Mubadala yesterday announced the launch of nominations for the second edition of its Youth Award, which will recognise three young inspirational UAE nationals for their positive impact on society. Registration for the fifth edition of the popular Mubadala Youth Forum, which takes place on 7th October, 2015, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre, ADNEC, is also now open.

The Youth Award recognises young Emiratis who are driven, ambitious and committed to contributing to the community. Open to young Emiratis between the ages of 7 and 25, the awards programme is now open for nominations through Mubadala's youth portal, Weyana. The winners will be awarded on stage at ADNEC during the annual Mubadala Youth Forum, following in the footsteps of last year's winners, Hamad Al Kaabi, Mishal Al Marzooqi and Alia Al Hazami who were all recognised for their inspirational achievements.

Commenting on the launch, Nadine Saleh Hassan, Head of Integrated Marketing and Outreach at Mubadala, said, "The Mubadala Youth Award programme is designed to help inspire young people by showcasing stories of youth across the UAE who are a true source of pride, with the hope that this causes a ripple effect. We are looking forward to receiving inspiring applications for the award and highlighting some of these at the forum."

She added, "Through these and a range of other Mubadala initiatives, we are committed to helping young Emiratis realise the important role they will play in the UAE's future. With this year's theme of 'From College to Career', our aim is to extend the benefit of the event beyond information and insights, to skills and tools that will help students see tangible results in their chosen career paths."

Now in its fifth year, the Mubadala Youth Forum aims to raise awareness on the opportunities available to young Emiratis in Abu Dhabi through hands-on workshops and in-depth talks by leading figures.

This year's forum will feature a number of talks and engaging interactive workshops on the 'From College to Career' theme. The dynamic talks by influential leaders will engage students with topics on career readiness and the progression from higher education to the job market. Through the Youth Award and Forum, Mubadala aims to support an environment which empowers the UAE's future generation, and enable young nationals to actively contribute to the nation's future.

Last year's Youth Forum was attended by hundreds of students from across the UAE. It offered students the opportunity to interact with Emirati business leaders and role models as they consider the varied career opportunities at the heart of Abu Dhabi's economic development. The event concluded on a high note with students attending a workshop that provided practical experience with interview skills and emphasised the importance of teamwork and interpersonal skills to productivity at the workplace.
