
The National Committee for the Prohibition of weapons of Mass Destruction held a meeting at Foreign Ministry headquarters.
Chaired by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, the panel discussed the licensing mechanism for enterprises dealing with the chemicals listed in the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
They scrutinized plans to take advantage of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Arab Atomic Energy Agency and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in setting up conferences and workshops in the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to view the international and regional experiences in the various nuclear, chemical and biological fields.
The Committee is working on strengthening Bahrain’s mechanisms of implementation of obligations, under the conventions and treaties related to nuclear, biological and chemical work. It is also working on communicating with international organizations to implement these obligations.
