Mesaimeer team advanced to the second phase of HH the Emir Cup, which kicked off on Sunday, after defeating Qatar SC 2-1 Al Markhiya also qualified to the second round of the tournament, after a 1-0 win over Al Shamal in their match which was played at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium.
Mesaimeer players Sulaimani Yamini and Imad Zatara scored in the third and 66th minutes, while Abdul Aziz Adel scored Qatar SC's only goal in the 86th minute.
Al Markhiya Saleh Al-Yahri sored the one goal in the game in the 50th minute to book a place for his team in the second-round.
The second phase of the championship with two first-round matches involving Al Markhiya, Qatar SC, Mesaimeer and Al Shamal kicked off today.
The tournament will conclude in May signaling the end of the football season in Qatar.
