
Eight eateries have been closed down in Wilayat Sur as well as 63 fines issued by Sur Municipality as a result of a series of inspection on cafes, restaurants and fast food joints.
The Department of Veterinary and Food Monitoring at Sur Municipality, following the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources’ vision in applying the food safety law, inspected 145 establishments where violations were recorded.
As a result, eight establishments were shut down and 63 fines were issued as well as 12 warnings issued. The municipality destroyed 465 food items, deeming them unfit for human consumption.
