RIYADH - Muslimchronicle

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has carried out 161 projects in all parts of Yemen through 86 local and global partners, KSRelief General Supervisor Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah disclosed.
During a meeting with the head of Oslo Center and former premier of Norway, Bondevik Kell, in Oslo on Friday, Al-Rabeeah highlighted the efforts exerted by KSRelief in Yemen.
He said the volume of assistance provided by the Kingdom to Yemen in the period extending from April 2015 to October 2017 stood at $8.27 billion (SR31bn).
These projects implemented by KSRelief covered food security, nutrition, sheltering, health, community support, environmental sanitation and other related projects.
He stressed that all sea, air and land ports are open for global organizations to deliver relief and humanitarian assistance to the needy in Yemen.
In this context, he underscored the Kingdom’s enormous humanitarian efforts to take necessary measures for the protection of civilians and the role of Arab coalition forces in protecting and facilitating the delivery of assistance in all parts of Yemen.
Commenting on news that the Houthi militias have recruited nearly 20,000 Yemeni children for military purposes based on reports released by legal organizations, he said all global and human rights laws criminalize the use of children as war tools or human shields. In this context, the KSRelief has begun implementing projects aimed to rehabilitate some 2,000 children who were recruited by Houthi militias.
Later that day, the KSRelief chief met with the secretary-general of the Norwegian Refugee Center (NRC) and discussed efforts and projects implemented by KSRelief in 38 countries, with special emphasis on Yemen.
On another front, KSRelief has distributed 7,000 food baskets in two different Yemeni governorates.
In Marib governorate, KSRelief distributed 4,000 food baskets while another 3,000 food baskets were distributed in Bab Al-Mandab governorate and Mayyun Island.
